This course is a preliminary course in theoretical and practical. It is mainly designed to predispose students of level two to literary studies. Accordingly, it is a supplementary course to other courses in English literature. The course focuses on the classical and Romantic theories of criticism, e.g. Aristotle, Longinus, Horace, Sidney, Alexander Pope, Dryden, Wordsworth Coleridge and Keats. There will be an application on a given text for each theory
